Kathryn Bushley

Kathryn BushleyDr. Bushley’s research focuses on identification and characterization of fungi with potential use as biocontrol agents of insect pests, plant parasitic nematodes, and other fungal pathogens of crops (soybean and maize) as well as native plant ecosystems.  These fungi include both pathogens of insects and nematodes and growth enhancing endophytes or rhizosphere associates.   She is fundamentally interested in identifying biochemical mechanisms by which these fungi deter or infect pathogens using a combination of genomic, transcriptomic, and metabolomic approaches.
