Corn in the sun beam

The University of Minnesota Measurement Sciences Initiative aims to develop a comprehensive set of cutting-edge phenotyping infrastructures to support agricultural and natural resources research at the University of Minnesota. In Phase One, the SBC is leading an effort to develop a plan for high throughput plant phenotyping resources. In partnership with the Department of Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, needs assessment of the plant sciences research community, analysis of measurement technologies and delivery mechanisms, and survey of data analytical tools and infrastructure are ongoing. This effort will yield recommendations for future investments in shared research infrastructure, attract and foster public-private partnerships, and develop a funding plan. The Measurement Sciences Initiative is supported by the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station and PepsiCo.
